Important Notice: Weekly eNewsletter “Markham 360”

Dear Residents,

Since being elected as Regional Councillor, I have published 180 consecutive weekly editions of the Markham 360 eNewsletter, sharing updates on the City of Markham, York Region, and community news without missing a single week.

Due to municipal election regulations taking effect on May 1, Members of Council are not permitted to distribute mass communications to constituents—whether in print or digital format—during the election period. As a result, I'm sorry that the Markham 360 eNewsletter will be temporarily paused.

Thank you sincerely for your continued support throughout these 180 editions. I look forward to reconnecting with you once regular communications resume!

If you have any concerns or ideas, feel free to contact my office at alan.ho@markham.ca

Residents can still subscribe to Markham NOW—the City’s monthly eNewsletter—or follow the City on social media to receive updates throughout an election period:

Snow Windrow Survey 2026 Results

Since February 2026, our office received 1,827 responses: 1,322 (72.4%) in support, 375 (20.5%) opposed, and 130 (7.1%) with conditional feedback.

The results show overall support for expanding citywide snow windrow-clearing services, alongside concerns about cost, service reliability, response times, and clearer budget communication. I will bring these findings forward for further review.

Thank you for your participation!

How do potholes form?

During the winter, water gets into the cracks of the pavements. The cracks will freeze and then thaw, causing the pavement to break apart. Over time, as cars drive over these weakened spots, the holes get bigger and deeper. As the temperature rises, we’re ramping up pothole repairs!

Our patrol trucks are equipped with enhanced with digital tools, helping us ensure we repair them efficiently and effectively Learn more at http://york.ca/.../york-region-tackling-potholes-after...
