Was your home built before 1986?
You may have downspouts connected to the sewer when they should not be. This can cause sewage backups in your basement during storms and when the snow melts. If your downspout goes directly into the ground, it may be connected to the sewer system.
Protect your property by checking downspouts that drain to your yard and nowhere else. Disconnect, Redirect, Prevent backups
