Winter Operations Update: All combination units are out plowing and applying winter material to primary roads, secondary roads, and the cycle track. Local roads and sidewalks continue to be monitored at this time.
Remember that snow clearing starts with the largest and busiest roads (known as arterial or primary roads), followed by secondary roads that serve schools, community centres, and industrial and commercial areas, and then local roads and lanes in residential areas.

Protect your basement from sewage backups. Now is the time to check downspouts drain to your yard and nowhere else.
If your downspout goes directly into the ground, it may be connected to the sewer. Heavy rain and melting snow can enter the sewer through downspouts connected to the system when they should not be. Excess water in the sanitary sewer system can cause:
• Costly sewage backups in your basement
• Environmental risks from untreated sewage overflows
• Higher costs for everyone to treat water that should not be in the system Disconnect Redirect Prevent backups
