Canada Post community mailboxes belong to and are maintained by Canada Post.
Following discussions with Canada Post, Markham will be removing blue boxes from all community mailbox sites by end of October 2025. Canada Post is responsible for site maintenance, including the clean-up of mail-related litter and waste.
Markham has experienced ongoing issues with these blue boxes such as contamination from pet waste and illegal dumping, making it difficult to properly recycle materials collected. As well as, unwanted flyers are often left behind becoming wind-blown litter in our parks and streets.
We apologize for any inconvenience and remind you to bring home all the mail you receive, unwanted flyers simply go in your blue box at home.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and farmers across York Region are working hard to harvest their crops.
As they move their equipment from field to field, they often use public roads. It's important that we share the road with them to ensure everyone's safety. Let's slow down, keep a safe distance and pass only when it's safe. By sharing the road, we support our farmers in their essential work!

• Wear light-coloured long-sleeved shirts, closed-toed shoes and long pants tucked into your socks• Use insect repellent with DEET or icaridin
