Markham Animal Services Officers were called to assist two orphaned baby squirrels found near Highway 7 and Wootten Way this week.

Their eyes aren’t even open yet! These little ones should still be in their nest. They’re now safe and receiving expert care at Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge, and will be released once they’re ready to thrive on their own.

If you find orphaned baby squirrels, DO NOT feed them. Rather, place them gently in a small box and call Animal Services at 905-415-7531. Let’s protect our wildlife together!
