Active Transportation Facilities Implementation Program: Upcoming Road Improvements & Cycling Infrastructure
The City of Markham will be carrying out road improvements on several streets, including Calvert Road, Clegg Road, Allstate Parkway, Ferrier Street, and Gillingham Avenue & Elson Street, to accommodate the installation of cycling infrastructure. These improvements are part of the City's 5-year priority plan under the Active Transportation Master Plan, and will include new buffered bike lanes and other enhancements to promote safe cycling.

York Region is installing a new pedestrian signal at Box Grove Bypass north of Rizal Ave.
Construction starts on May 12 and is anticipated to finish in August 2025. Lane restrictions are required Mon-Fri, 9:30am to 3:30pm.
