Effective March 4, 2025, light bulbs will no longer be accepted at Markham Recycling Depots and can be dropped off at the York Region’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot for recycling, at no charge to you.

Proper recycling of light bulbs ensures that harmful chemicals like mercury, are handled safely to protect the environment. Keeping light bulbs out of landfill means their glass and metal components can be recycled and used again.
