York Regional Council unanimously approves $4.8 billion responsible and responsive 2025 budget


York Regional Council unanimously approved a $4.8 billion 2025 Budget, the third year of the multi-year budget aligning with this term of Council.

 

The budget includes a tax levy increase of 3.55% and the continuation of a separate 1% Rapid Transit and Infrastructure tax levy which will add approximately $133 to the average residential tax bill.

 

The $4.8 billion budget includes $3.5 billion in operating costs and $1.26 billion in capital expenditures.

50th Annual Markham Santa Claus Parade

 

Santa’s coming to Markham on Saturday, November 30 from 11 AM to 1 PM!

 

Join us for the 50th Annual Markham Santa Claus Parade, presented by Tim Hortons, in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Markham. The theme of this year's parade is “The Magic of Christmas.”

 

The parade will run along Main Street Markham, north of Highway 7 to 16th Avenue.

The City of Markham adopted Budget 2025, which was presented by Mayor Frank Scarpitti on October 28. Budget 2025 represents the 20th year Markham has had the lowest average tax rate increase in the GTA. The budget adoption follows input from staff, Council and the community.
