Highway 404 Road Crossing improvement project – video update, fall 2024
Aerial view of construction of the Highway 404 road crossing, showing project progress and the future connection.
Work in progress and planned:
-Crews are building the overpass structure connecting the new road crossing on the east and west side of Highway 404
-A retaining wall is taking shape on the Rouge River bridge; riverbanks are stable and ready for planting
-On Cachet Woods Court, work is being done to connect the road to the future road crossing; sanitary and storm services have been extended and the road is being built up
-Road widening continues on Markland Street and Orlando Avenue; sewer and watermain work is expected to start in the coming weeks
Travellers can expect lane closures as crews prepare the streets to connect to the future road crossing. Traffic will shift to accommodate construction.
Highway 404 road crossing construction started in summer 2023 and is expected to be complete in early 2026.
As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
