The Ministry of Health will be changing the way 911 calls are assigned within York Region. The Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) is an evidence-based technology that has become an industry standard for patient triaging globally.
 
The Georgian Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC) will adopt the new Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) to improve the deployment of paramedic resources and ensure patients with life-threatening conditions receive the most timely and appropriate level of out-of-hospital care.
